Lucky for me, the Falcon Heavy is a behemoth & it moved rather slowly across the sky - allowing me to reposition my camera & try again. I didn't quite catch the shot I had envisioned, but I'm pretty happy with what I got. The last one is my favourite... The rocket is long gone, just the glow of the fading sun reflected off the v***r trail. What an amazing experience. Have you seen any launches lately?

My first attempt at capturing a Falcon Heavy launch after sunset didn't produce the best results neither me, nor my camera were prepared for how much light came from that candle. Took me a while I'm processing to even get this much of an image. Prettying incredible launch!

I finally got to see a rocket launch! The launch itself was a little underwhelming... Several factors kinda harshed the mellow. But then I pulled my pictures from my camera.

And I found this. And then I zoomed in on it a bit. And it immediately became my new favourite shot. I'm ridiculously proud of this one. Hopefully Instagram shows it to more than 6 people 🙄

We made it to the Space Coast this week! Finding a place to stay was a little stressful, coastal RV parks charging up to $200/night (one was more) - utterly absurd. Thankfully, a lovely gentleman I met in Texas had recommended this spot to us. Not only is it affordable, it's right on the water. And NASA is just across the channel... Perfect for viewing launches from the beach - which is the only reason we came to Florida.

The cruise ships were interesting to see... Despite my feelings about them. But as one was sailing out, I was lucky enough to catch a dolphin playing in the water in front of it. There were hundreds of people waving, who seemingly thought my 600mm lens was for them... But my eyes were on the water. Really happy with this shot!

We made it to the east coast yesterday! One of the first things I did, was lose my favourite pair of sunglasses in the water. That was disappointing. But waking up at the beach, having coffee with the sunrise this morning, pretty quickly made it better.

I've been slacking with my posting...I've been in a bit of a funk since we left the west coast. I don't like being away from the sea, the flatlands in between are bad for my mental health.

We made it to Florida a few days ago, and were overjoyed as we rolled down the Gulf coast. Brilliant water, beautiful beaches - my idea of a happy place. And then we realized, it's still spring break. We wanted no part in that, so we begrudgingly modified our plans & drove away from the coast.

Now we're parked next to a quiet pond, in a park that isn't packed full of obnoxious party people. Sitting in the sun with my coffee, I can feel the mental fog lifting & inspiration starting to creep back in. Hopefully this trend continues... Cuz I've got lots to share!
