If you are “skipping” your oil changes, you are gambling your engine’s life. A collapsed filter provides zero protection. The dirty oil bypasses the filter, blasting metal shavings and dirt directly into your engine’s moving parts.

What to look for:
Cracking: Like in the photo, dry rot is a killer.

Fraying: The edges are starting to unravel.

Glazing: A shiny, “burnt” look on the underside.

Pro Tip: Most manufacturers recommend replacement every 60k to 100k miles. Check your owner’s manual!
