It's time to dust off that E6-B and ruler! The second annual Blue Sky Air Rally is right around the corner, and registration is open! It's your chance to test your flight planning skills - you're assigned a route the morning of the event, and have 45 minutes to complete your flight planning. The Rally Marshal will compare your actual logged time to your estimates, and you are awarded points based on your accuracy! It's precision flying and navigating at its best.

Win prizes, and have a great time with your crew or passengers. Registration is open until the morning of the event. If you're not flying, be sure to stop by the Club on June 6 and share in the excitement.

Life is great on the first Tuesday of every month with the Great Chicken Wing Challenge. A bunch of the club's wing nuts swooped into Airdrie's killer smokehouse for swapping stories, lots of laughter, and some pretty epic smoked wings. Yes, the rules were acknowledged, but flippantly ignored. Too much fun to be too serious.

June 2 at Juliet's Castle is the next one and will be at a long-time classic wing joint. Email [email protected] to secure a landing spot.

We’re excited to announce that our next Calgary Flying Club social event—the always-anticipated Chicken Wing Challenge Night—has officially been set for May 5! This time we’ll be gathering at Main Street Beer & BBQ in Airdrie, with the action kicking off at 6:30 PM. Whether you’re in it to win it or just there for the laughs and great company, it’s shaping up to be another fantastic evening of wings, friendly competition, and hangar talk.

If April’s challenge at Mugshotz is anything to go by, we’re in for a memorable night. Between the bold attempts at the spiciest flavours, the heroic (and sometimes questionable) wing-eating strategies, and the nonstop laughs, it quickly turned into one of those nights people are still talking about. Mugshots squeaked past Alberta Wing Shack to take top billing in the ongoing challenge as to the best wings around. Does Mainstreet have what it takes to be top wing.
