Calgary Core Physiotherapy provides physiotherapy, acupuncture, sports and post-operative rehabilitation, and injury treatment services in downtown Calgary

At Calgary Core Physiotherapy, we have created a clinic where clients can see what a difference it makes in their injury recovery when you combine the skills to heal and the spirit to care. Our desire is to make a positive impact on our downtown community, all 4 quadrants of Calgary, and beyond. Yes, this is a large area to consider, but our clientele has come from as far away as BC, Saskatchewan

Another weekend spent learning and growing 📚💪

Our physios recently completed an in-depth shoulder course focused on scapular treatment strategies, exercise techniques for shoulder instability, and improving glenohumeral stability.

We explored research and clinical approaches from Lyn Watson, including the positive outcomes seen with scapular setting using resistance bands to help support shoulder stability.

The course also covered practical taping techniques, hands-on manual therapy skills, and evidence-informed treatment approaches that we’re excited to bring back to the clinic for our patients.

Always learning. Always improving. Always striving to provide the best care possible ✨

May is National Physiotherapy Month - a great opportunity to recognize & learn more about each and every one of our CCP Physios!

Tim Lee (BScPT, FCAMPT, DipManipPT, cGIMS, CAFCI)

🌟What’s your treatment philosophy? Over his many years of clinical practice, Tim has found that getting the most accurate diagnosis of an injury is vital for treatment success. Along with providing focused and effective treatment, he also teaches his clients how to move, exercise, and live in the best way to encourage healing of their injury.

🌟What are you interested in outside of work? Tim loves to stay active by biking or playing tennis in the summer, or cross country/downhill skiing in the winter. Tim is part of a Calgary leadership group, and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

🌟What are your areas of expertise and interest? Although Tim started his career focusing on sports injuries and traveling with various sports teams, he has developed his skills and interests towards neck and back conditions.

🌟How do you take care of your body/prevent injuries/ etc.? In order to keep working in a physical job such as physiotherapy, Tim finds it necessary to get to the gym 2 to 3 times a week to maintain strength and stability.

We would like to congratulate Jacalyn Moore on sharing the results of her Master’s research project!

Her study, “Sex differences in symptom burden 5–15 years following adolescent sport-related concussion compared to musculoskeletal injury or no injury history,” is an incredible contribution to concussion research and awareness.

Jacalyn had the honour of presenting a poster of her research for the Canadian Concussion Network, as well as having her oral abstract accepted by the International Paediatric BrainInjury Symposium!

We are so proud of all of her hard work, dedication, and achievements throughout this journey. Congratulations, Jacalyn!
