Thank you to everyone who posted a quote or sent one to me directly. Here are a few that I wanted to share:
"People living deeply have no fear of death." -Anais Nin
"It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live." -Marcus Aurelius
“If you have a warm and caring heart, your loved ones will ensure you never depart. For long after you've turned that final page you'll still be right there on center stage.” - Stanley Victor Paskavich
Dearly dEpiphany: what song would you like played at your funeral? As usual, we invite you to post your answer in the next week. You can also send it to me directly and I will post it for you. Each time you post, your name will go into the draw to win a free funeral event pre-plan by Dearly DeParty. Can't wait to see what songs you choose!
Friday Dearly dEpiphany: what is your favourite quote about death? We invite all of you to post your answer (deadline is next Friday, when we will ask a new question). Remember that each time you post, your name will go into the draw to win a free funeral event pre-plan by Dearly DeParty. Looking forward to the quotes you find!
Hello! We are excited to announce that we are starting a contest! Each Friday, we will post a question (a "Dearly dEpiphany") which helps us to reflect upon death in a life-affirming way. We invite everyone to post their answer. We will keep track of each time someone has contributed and at the end of each month, we will draw a name and the winner will receive a FREE funeral event pre-plan by Dearly DeParty! Remember that you increase your chances of winning by contributing often. Removing/reducing the fear of death is one way to live more fully and that is what we hope to achieve by creating dialogue around this subject.

LOOK: Amazing Calgary Flood Volunteer Portraits They look tired, muddied and wet but resilient and determined in their demeanor. When Calgary photographer Shaun Robinson hit city streets the day after the Elbow and Bow Rivers crested, his pictures captured images of utter destruction and loss.

We love these! Made by very talented local artists who will be showing their work at the Bowness Sportplex on Saturday, June 22nd. Check out their page to see the rest of their fantastic work!
Hello, Jamie here! Just wanted to clarify one thing from the CBC interview: I did not write my obituary. I asked someone very talented to write it for me. Even though I explained that in the presentation and interview, that got lost somehow. Anyway, I would highly recommend that everyone have the experience of reading their obituary while they can enjoy it! I couldn't have imagined what a gift this would turn out to be. I have enjoyed reading it immensely and will continue to do so for the rest of my life (however long that might be).
