10 years, 2 babies, 3 houses, 3 dogs and 1 cat… and I wouldn’t change a thing. Except maybe for our wedding day and the flood that cancelled it. But other than that my love I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s been a while but here I am…
It’s so easy to say I would die for my children but how many can say they would live for their children? Really do the work to live and be the best version of themselves?
I’ve spent the last two years doing the work.
I have acknowledged and worked tirelessly to heal traumas, set boundaries, and put myself first in order to be the best mother for my girls that I can be. I needed to stop the patterns of abuse that have occurred for generations. It has become my life’s work. What I’ve learned is that it is not only ok but it is necessary to ask for help. Whether it be from a doctor, a therapist, a partner, family members or friends. I’ve learned that there is no shame in the truth and that it really will set you free. And finally if you don’t take care of yourself you can’t take care of anyone else. So here I say thank you to my village for helping me become the best mother I can be. I am free.
