On June 21, we recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day, a day to celebrate the cultures, histories, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples across Turtle Island.
Every year, we acknowledge the traditional territories where we live, work, gather, play, and organize. National Indigenous Peoples Day is an opportunity to deepen that commitment, to learn more about the Peoples who have called these lands home since time immemorial, and to reflect on our own responsibilities under Treaty.
All of us have a role to play in understanding the true meaning of this day and sharing that knowledge with those around us.
If you're able, find a celebration in your community today and take part!
