This is the inside of a washing machine. Just like everything else in your home, this bad boy needs regular maintenance if you want it to last. Here's what the repair guy wants you to know:

1. Never overload your machine. Front loaders should only be loaded 2/3 full

2. Clean that gasket and the inside of the door. That's what caused the expensive repair on this machine

3. Keep the washing machine clean and dry (regularly run a cleaning cycle and leave the door and detergent tray open)

Speaking of cleaning things out, when is the last time you changed out your exhaust fans?
