my flight is booked & i am counting down the days!! i will be back in YYC for the holidays ☃️ a few mamas + mamas to be have reached out about family sessions in december. because my time is so limited at home i want to spend the majority of it with family + friends + my cats! i have 2/4 spots remaining *weekdays only*. the sun sets early so the session will be from 3:00pm-4:00pm. prices are listed on my site. i would love to meet a family at a tree lot or a skating rink! hot cocoa by a fire would be very sweet too!

The Langmaid Family || This beautiful, loving family most definitely made it into my top 5 favorite session list. Their love, the colors, and those handsome boys, Logan and Brooks! This session gives me all the feels!

Sarah-Lana, Thomas, and Catherine || Last summer their maternity session unexpectedly transformed into a newborn session. I wasn't one bit upset though because I got to meet sweet Catherine at just 7 days old. Now look at her today; a bright, bubbly one-year-old little girl!
Session 1/4 sent out this weekend. Thank goodness for car chargers and husbands who prefer to drive so I can work while we roadtrip to visit family.

Sara + Sean + Forrest | Our plans adjusted because of the wind + rain + smoke. While the mountains would have been fun, these three are beautiful humans from the inside out, so the location really didn't matter at the end of the day!

One of the greatest honours is when another tremendously talented photographer asks you to photograph their family. Last night was magical ✨ Atlee’s top notch swinging tricks perfectly depict my feelings about last night 👌🏼

this week one of my students was handed a basket of lemons. giant sour ones that at times made it very challenging to want to make lemonade. travelling is most definitely not always a walk in the park. adventures come with their own set of challenges. one of the major differences, though, is that your family most often isn’t in close proximity to guide you through the circumstance. you often have to rely on the support of strangers or new friends. yesterday i was asked what the greatest lesson i have learned while travelling is. to be honest, it is one that i have learned over and over again in each country i visit. i suppose that makes it more of a reminder than a lesson, but non-the-less, it’s how truly generous, kind and supportive people are. people from all walks of life: from different countries, different continents, different religions, people who speak different languages, have different political views, and eat different food. we’re all just humans sharing the same planet seeking health, happiness and connection. over the past few days, i had to put my trust in other people’s hands; in the hands of people that i have never met and likely will never see again. they were patient and kind despite my deep lack of ability to speak spanish :p i also witnessed vulnerability through the willingness to say i need help, we were wrong, and we aren’t sure.
if there’s a place in the world that you feel uncertain about, go. if there are people you feel uncertain about, talk to them. i bet you 9/10 times you will be pleasantly surprised. don’t let the media, rumours from the past, or fictional tv shows cloud the reality. be the person who discovers the truth yourself, then pass on the message of joy!

i surprised mike with a two night stay in a hobbit home 👌🏼wait until you see the view through our door. this was definitely one of the best accommodations we have ever stayed in; the views, the people, the food, the greenhouse hottub. we even had a sheep we named frankie that lived right in our front yard! the secret garden cotopaxi is a must when in ecuador. the hikes in the susurrounding area are incredible. thanks for the suggestion!
