Farming families need more help with preparing for the next generation to takeover the farm and for their own retirement planning! I had a successful presentation to farming families in Red Deer County on succession and continuity planning. I will be happy if I helped one family open up discussion and bridge conflicts or barriers using the tools I provided.

Arguments About Money Aren't About Money 08/22/2023

Arguing about money? You’re not alone. A financial planner may be just as helpful as a Counsellor in some cases since money is one of the biggest causes of anxiety or even separation among married couples.

If you’re married or living common law, then you should be doing these three things to improve your relationship.

1. Meet together with your financial planner at least twice per year.

2. Have a date night and talk about your personal goals and dreams.

3. Prioritize your spending so everyone gets what they need to be happy.

Arguments About Money Aren't About Money Arguments about money aren’t about money. They are about our dreams, our fears and more and are the main cause of conflict in marriage.

Federal Budget 2021 - Small Business Technology Incentives

The budget is very extensive this year and many of the highlights may get missed. Of key note to me ,are the initiatives to support women, youth and small businesses. I will post a few lesser known initiatives that you may not be aware of over the next few weeks.

I will start with the small and medium size business initiatives around technology. I think we can all agree that this is a must have coming out of this pandemic.

"Budget 2021 proposes to provide $2.6 billion on a cash basis over four years, starting in 2021-22, to the Business Development Bank of Canada to help small and medium-sized businesses finance technology adoption." See the link below for more details.
