Snow has arrived and so has your furnaces time to shine. Check those furnace filters and replace them regularly. Your furnace likely runs 1-3 times an hour during the extra cold days, which can add up to over 350 times a week. I pulled that furnace filter in picture 2 out of furnace just this past week. Poor airflow can cause premature failure of furnace components, as the furnace gets extra hot due to poor movement of air, and added strain on the blower motor. People often forget many Alberta plumbers are also journeyman gas fitters and fully qualified to service and repair your furnace.

Preventative main line drain auguring from your house out to the city can remove buildup from lines, cut away tree roots, and pull back all those “flushable” wipes that may be lying in wait to cause a sewage backup in your home.

Roots often enter older cast drain lines at connections between pipe and can be as fine as human hair when searching for water. Cutting these roots away before disaster strikes could save thousands in repair from a back up.

I’ve pulled back literal pail fulls of wipes in the past while clearing a blockage. They come already wet, so getting them “wetter” doesn’t make them break down like toilet paper. If you’re renting keep flushing them, but please give your landlord my number. 😉
