Calgary Guitar Collective is all about getting Calgary’s guitar players together in the same room - learning, connecting, and just nerding out about the instrument. It’s a social thing as much as it is a learning thing, and we’re building a proper community around it.
Sam Coulson is a Calgary-based guitarist who toured with ASIA and Journey, played Brian May’s solos in We Will Rock You, and was mentored by Paul Gilbert. He’s been a pro for over 20 years and he’s doing a clinic covering modes, pentatonics, loop stations, tone and technique tips, and a live Q&A. All levels welcome.
Every ticket enters attendees into a door prize draw including a Dingotone fuzz pedal and other goodies.

Canadian winters are tough on guitars. When the binding separates, they need to be repaired properly. In this case we needed to remove small sections of the binding to compensate for the shrinking of the wood. Done right the first time.

Right in the feels.
This week we had some beauty smaller bodied Martin’s in the shop. After all repairs were completed, we a/b/c’d them. Which one is your favourite? The O-18, OO-18 or OM-21?
Have you ever seen a Gibson Recorder bass? Check out Chris-E-B bass Jedi taking this one for a spin post fret levelling and set up. Owner says it’s never played better.
Ever heard of a Gibson Recorde bass? Crazy deep voice. It came in with super low frets but still buzzy. Ever so gently we levelled, crowned and polished them for the win. Next time will likely be a refret. The owner says it’s never played better.
