In partnership with St. Luke's Anglican Church - Calgary, Alberta, Canada, we will be having a Pre-Stampede Breakfast on Sunday June 28 from 9 am - 11:30 am, to help get you into the Stampede Spirit.

Next Friday, June 19 @ 6 pm, we will be having a Youth BBQ & Sports Night for ages 13 - 21yrs. Please contact the office to RSVP your Youth so we can make sure we have enough food for everyone.

In Bible study this week, people are asking the question, "Why is God so angry and destructive in the Old Testament?" The short answer is: God is begging people to be in relationship and to follow the covenant. When they don't, they fall prey to violent disasters pretty much of their own making.

Christmas is just around the corner and we would love to see you for either our Candlelight Christmas Eve Service, Christmas Day Service and/or our Congregational/Community Breakfast to share the Christmas joy.

Christmas baking! Rich buttery fruitcake with as many raisins and cherries as will fit in the cake. Tender crispy shortbread. Sugar cookies and ginger-bread. Tastes that are the very stuff of Christmas nostalgia!

But, with the demands of full-time wage-earning and full-time child-rearing, who has the time to bake? Some people, fortunately. For me, baking the traditional morsels is as important as having them on hand to offer to guests; and most of my recipes were developed in a time when people had many more children and grandchildren than is the norm nowadays. And, some of the things I love to bake (like fruitcake) are despised by my darling offspring.

So, here's the solution to both problems. Those of us who love to bake are donating our products to the Church, and those of you who love to eat them are invited to come buy them! Our bakesale will be December 14 -- THIS SUNDAY! -- right after the 11am worship service ends, which should be about 12:15. Everyone is welcome.
