As we reflect on the incredible success of the Sideways screening and community fundraiser, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to the Airdrie Sport Council for their leadership, partnership, and unwavering support.
The Airdrie Sport Council's vision of a Healthier Together Airdrie was brought to life on Monday evening.
Through their commitment to building healthy, connected communities, they helped create an event that brought people together around some of the most important conversations we can have—mental health, resilience, hope, healing, and human connection.
What unfolded that evening was far more than a documentary screening.
It was a community coming together.
It was people sharing stories.
It was hearts opening.
It was meaningful conversations beginning.
And it was a reminder that when communities unite around a common purpose, amazing things can happen.
The Airdrie Sport Council continues to champion initiatives that strengthen the well-being of individuals, families, athletes, and our community as a whole.

A Special Thank You to the Airdrie Elite Hockey Committee (AEHC)
As we reflect on the incredible success of the Sideways screening in Airdrie, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Airdrie Elite Hockey Committee for their support and partnership.
The AEHC's vision is about far more than developing elite hockey players.
Their mission is to prepare young athletes for success beyond sport by equipping them with the skills, values, character, and mindset needed to thrive both on and off the ice.
That commitment resonates deeply with the mission of I Got Mind and the message behind Sideways.
The documentary reminds us that while hockey can open doors and create opportunities, it is the life skills we develop along the way—resilience, perseverance, leadership, connection, and purpose—that ultimately shape who we become.
The Airdrie Elite Hockey Committee continues to create a culture of excellence that not only develops athletes but also helps develop strong young men prepared for the challenges and opportunities that life will bring.
Thank you for investing in the next generation of athletes and for supporting conversations around mental health, personal development, and well-being.
Together, we are helping young people understand that success is measured not only by what happens on the ice, but by who they become as individuals.
Thank you for helping build stronger athletes, stronger leaders, and stronger communities.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Sheri Lux
One of the most powerful voices we heard during our Sideways screening in Airdrie was Sheri Lux.
After losing her RCMP husband to su***de, Sheri chose to transform unimaginable loss into a mission of hope, healing, and advocacy. Her courage, vulnerability, and commitment to raising awareness around mental health touched everyone in the room.
As a speaker, author, and advocate, Sheri continues to inspire others through her story and her message that no one should suffer in silence.
If you haven't already, I encourage you to support Sheri by purchasing her book, Finding My Fire, a powerful story of resilience, recovery, and hope in the face of personal tragedy.
I also encourage you to follow her work through Sheri Lux: Inspirational Speaker; Healing Through Arts, where she continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. She has a beautiful collection of candles available as a way to support her work.
Sheri, thank you for sharing your heart, your story, and your passion for helping others heal. Your voice is creating change and reminding people that there is always hope.
❤️ You are making a difference.

What an incredible evening at Venue Church in Airdrie.
Monday night's screening of Sideways was nothing short of extraordinary.
From the moment people began arriving, there was a feeling that this would be more than just a documentary screening. The beautiful setting at Venue Church created the perfect space for reflection, conversation, connection, and healing.
As the story unfolded on the screen, you could feel the emotion in the room. There were moments of silence, moments of tears, moments of inspiration, and moments that reminded us all of the incredible resilience of the human spirit.
What makes Sideways so powerful is that it is more than a story about tragedy. It is a story about courage, hope, healing, and the choices we make when life takes us down unexpected paths.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended, to the amazing team at Venue Church for creating such a welcoming environment, and to all those who continue to support the mission of bringing conversations about mental health, trauma, resilience, and recovery into our communities.
