Sewing Roots
Sewing Roots is my personal hobby that provides me with the opportunity to share my love of sewing with others.
All creations are handmade with new or upcycled fabric (fabrics obtained from de-stashing fellow quilters).

January, I decided on a few projects that get left on the back burner when preparing for a market. It was fun to get back to making quilts and good to clean up leftover quilt pieces by making table runners or a lap quilt. Here's a few pictures of my creations. All competed except for the large white, moss green and dark burgundy star quilt. I can't decide on backing for that one.
The last picture is Lisa Mae in her sewing corner in my tiny sewing room. 😂 Please notice the lovely, very old sewing desk purchased on marketplace for $20 and resized to fit by my very talented husband. And my mom's 55 year old Pfaff which still works great!

A fun, just in time for Christmas project that Lisa designed and we sewed together. The fabric on the table is 2" squares that she sewed together. These two stockings were made for her dogs but I think this pattern might sell. I'll have to consider it for next year's markets.
I made the tote bag for her to carry music binders for her church music team. Then I took a bit of a break over Christmas.

This was a custom tree skirt where the customer chose her own fabrics and asked me to sew a star tree skirt. What a fun job with these beautiful fabrics!

The market at the Regional Fieldhouse was so much fun! I met so many wonderful people and sold so many things! Thank you to my friends and family who came out to see the booth. I look forward to making new friends as I follow up with the contacts I made. It was a great day.

After spending a few months in Langley this summer, it was so awesome to come home to my sewing room. First task was to create a quilt that a friend asked me to make for her niece in Calgary. It was fun to create and delightful to deliver it to a very special gal. Thought I'd share a few pictures of the process and the finished project. What do you think?
