Well, allergy season has arrived in Calgary and the parade of patients with itchy, watery eyes has begun. Zaspray from , is one of our go-to over-the-counter recommendations because it helps stabilize the tear film, soothe allergic irritation, and it’s applied as a mist making it great alternative to a regular eyedrop (and a win for kids). Impeccable timing since Calgary gave us sun, pollen, and snow all in the same month…

Spotted at the National Training Event this weekend - our frame rep Jerry repping for the brand in the Colton. Handmade in Berlin, the Colton is super lightweight, and features clean lines and the classic Mykita spiral hinge. Jerry paired his frames with an FL-41 tinted lens (a tint designed to reduced generalized light sensitivity and visual discomfort) — making the finished product an example of a functional lenses looking very much on point.

So excited to finally meet Roberta - she runs the show (and is also the daughter of the brand’s founder). We were equally as excited to get a firsthand look at all the new releases from the SS2026 lineup and handpick the pieces to land on our shelves. SS2026 Spotlight - Tinted lenses continue to gain popularity in 2026, and we love to work with them both in sunglasses and specialty ophthalmic lenses. A tinted lens is a great way to add a little unexpected personality with a vintage vibe, and bridge the gap between indoor and outdoor wear. So many of the new releases this season feature specialty tints right out of the box, but we can also custom order a tinted lens (with or without a prescription) to any frame of your choosing! Trust us, the options are endless…☺️

With all of our independent eyewear brands launching their Spring/Summer 2026 collections, we wanted to highlight some of the key eyewear trends to watch for this year.

First up is the aviator (with its distinctive teardrop lens shape) and its close relative, the navigator (similar double bridge but with a more even lens shape). Both are classic profiles that are being reimagined in 2026 with updated slimmer profiles and softer curves. Modern aviators and navigators feel timeless, gender-neutral, and easy to wear - swipe through for some of our favourite aviator styles
