Our team was proud to sponsor and attend the Canadian Association of Women in Construction (CAWIC ) golf tournament in Calgary.

We built new connections, strengthened existing relationships, and supported an organization that is making a lasting impact on the construction industry. Events like this foster collaboration, mentorship, and community while helping build a stronger industry for future generations.

We’re proud to highlight Andrew Reid, whose career journey is a great example of growth, dedication, and leadership within the team.

Andrew began his career with Strike as an apprentice pipefitter in 2013, quickly earning a reputation for a strong work ethic, technical skill, and a willingness to take on new challenges. Over the years, he continued to take on increasing responsibilities and leadership roles, progressing to his current position as Project Manager.

Throughout his career, Andrew has contributed to the safe and efficient delivery of complex projects. His field experience brings valuable insight to planning and ex*****on, and his ability to connect field and office teams has had a positive impact on overall project performance.

“Andrew brings a strong, practical perspective to project management that comes from his progression through the field. Having worked his way up, he understands firsthand the challenges crews face on site, whether it's productivity pressures driven by schedule demands or constructability issues. He also recognizes the realities of working in varying site conditions, coordinating multiple trades, and maintaining safety while meeting aggressive timelines. This practical experience allows him to anticipate challenges early and develop solutions that are both efficient and workable in the field.”

Our Whitecourt team recently hosted a BBQ following the successful completion of a challenging outage at a plant near Fox Creek. It was a chance to thank the hundreds of workers, tradespeople, and contractors who collaborated to safely execute and complete a major turnaround.

Turnarounds take coordination, collaboration, and commitment from every crew on site, and this was a great opportunity to recognize the people behind the project.

A big shout-out to everyone involved and to Strike’s Safety team for stepping behind the grill to help feed the crew! 🔥

We were proud to recently support the TC Energy Charity Cup in collaboration with the Hockey Helps the Homeless program. 🏒❤️

The tournament brought people together for a great cause, with net proceeds from Alberta staying local to support three incredible organizations: Inn from the Cold, Trellis Society for Community Impact, and HomeFront Calgary.

Giving back to the communities where we live and work is something we care deeply about, and we were grateful to be part of an event that helps support individuals and families facing housing insecurity and hardship across our region.

🏆 Big news for our team! We are excited to share that Strike Group has been named a finalist in the Mentorship category for the 2026 Alberta Business Awards of Distinction, presented by Alberta Chambers of Commerce.

The Mentorship Award of Distinction recognizes a business/organization that exemplifies professionalism, and dedication to learning, and endorses a distinct strategy or program that promotes mentorship.

At Strike, mentorship is built into who we are. Through our 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, we invest in developing future leaders by providing hands-on experience, mentorship, and growth opportunities across our organization. Through our 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, we support apprentices and those new to the industry by reinforcing safe work practices, building confidence, and helping set people up for long-term success.

Programs are important, but mentorship is really about people. It is experienced leaders sharing knowledge, supporting growth, opening doors, and helping others succeed. We are proud of the many individuals across our organization who dedicate time and energy to developing the next generation.
