Here we show some thoroughly misused instruments. Most of them were brought back to life. When we get these in the shop I see it as a challenge and get excited to fix them….

Problem here! Way too much indicator tape! You can see these scissors do not close properly therefore you run into function problems. We recommend using the finger loops for indicator tape instead

This is what happens when you use your bone cutter to cut wire/pins. We managed to save another instrument to hopefully be used for its intended purpose 😊

Surgical set ID tags laser etched on anodized aluminum. We can customize them to any size or text needed.

Lead hands!! One of our favourite things we fabricate. The easy flexibility of the lead assists the surgeon in positioning patients hands for surgery.

Showing here before and after pictures of basic alignment issues with a couple different types of forceps. Very common for jaws and ratchets to become misaligned.

Here is a small example of some of our fabrication work we do. Although we have a large inventory of replacement parts some are just not available...that’s when the fun begins. First two images are fabricated parts, the third image is of a double blade scalpel handle.

Here is an example of before and after sharpening of Mayo operating scissors. After using the scissors for awhile the sharp cutting edge will become rounded and pits will form resulting in a poor cutting edge. When blunt scissors are used the tissue will be clasped instead of cut leaving contusions of the tissue and reduced wound healing. Operating scissors should always be closely inspected for irregularities on the cutting blades. A sharp cutting edge will not reflect any light whereas pits and blunt round edges will.

Preventive maintenance on minor surgery trays. Each instrument is assessed and function tested and repaired or sharpened as needed. ✂️
