A hard fighting Chinook has a way of bringing out the best expressions on the boat. Early season is well underway and our guests are not hiding how they feel about it.

From the kitchen this week: Passion fruit tart, whipped vanilla ganache, yuzu gel. Made here, where the BC coast meets Alaska.

Misty conditions, a calm inlet, Chinook that made the wait worthwhile, and smiles that needed no explanation. The 2026 season has officially begun.

Killer whales have been spotted in the area. Humpbacks are already working the bait. The herring are thick and early reports on Chinook numbers are strong. The eagles, as always, are keeping watch.

A successful barge day completed. The season-opening delivery brings food, supplies, fuel, and materials ashore all at once. It takes the whole team to unload, sort, and organize everything. This year they did it under a solid blue sky and temperatures well over 25 degrees. Rare for May on this coast, and a welcome backdrop for a full day of work.

Get your hands on one of these.
Ocean bright Chinook, still far from their spawning run, carrying the kind of fat and fight that serious anglers plan around. May and June at Eagle Pointe are quieter than peak season with fewer boats and more intentional days on the water. Right now, the fish are close.
A small number of early season dates remain for 2026. Link in bio.

One of our fleet of 27' Skagit Orcas.
Comfortable, capable, and built for full days on the water, with 300 HP Yamaha engines, heated cabins, and onboard washrooms.
Paired with an experienced guide who knows these waters intimately, so your group has the boat and your guide has the water.
We'll be back on the water this May.

At Eagle Pointe Lodge, every trip is shaped around your group, whether you are travelling as two guests or bringing together a full table of twelve.

Time on the water, unhurried evenings, and a setting designed to feel both private and connected.

With only a limited number of early season dates remaining for May and June 2026, now is the time to begin planning.

Some mornings the water does this.
No filter. No enhancement. Just the BC coast doing what it does when the light catches the surface at the right angle and everything sparkles. The Eagle Pointe Lodge guides have seen it thousands of times.
