To all of the mothers, near and far, still with us or living in our memories - thank you for all you've done for us.

I met with Michal Cotler-Wunsh, the CEO of the International Legal Forum, which is an Israel-based NGO helping lawyers in 40 countries hold governments, universities, and the United Nations, to account for a wave of normalized worldwide antisemitism, which we have regrettably also seen in Canada.

Ms. Cotler-Wunsh was born in Israel but grew up in Canada, and has her LLM from McGill. She is a former member of the Israeli Knesset. Her father, Irwin Cotler, was Canada’s first antisemitism envoy, and former Minister of Justice. She has much good advice for governments on the inherent connection between online hate and real-world violence.

Canadians deserve to know where their money is going — and who it’s going to.

In Question Period, I called out the government over a $200‑million spaceport deal that raises major questions about transparency, insider access, and accountability. While taxpayers carry the risk, well‑connected insiders seemed to walk away ahead.

I asked the Minister to explain this deal to Canadians. You can watch the exchange below and decide for yourself.

By-Elections and Floor Crossings: Greg Speaks to The Eyeopener | Greg McLean, Member of Parliament 05/07/2026

I am a little late in posting this interview, but the content is still relevant in light of the changing make up of Parliament in the last few weeks. I spoke with Loren McGinnis, host of CBC's Eyeopener morning show, about the mood in the Conservative Caucus, whether I've been approached to cross the floor, and what comes next for Conservatives. The link is to my website, which has the link to the interview.

Energy security now sits at the centre of geopolitical stability. Many countries are facing severe and long‑lasting energy disruptions. In Canada, we are comparatively secure — but that security is uneven, fragile, and largely accidental.

Debt‑Financed ‘Wealth’? Why Ottawa’s New Investment Fund Deserves Scrutiny | Greg McLean, Member of Parliament 05/01/2026

Today, I spoke in the House of Commons about Ottawa’s plan to create a new “sovereign wealth fund.”

Here’s the issue: true sovereign wealth funds are built from surpluses — not borrowed money. Canada is already carrying massive debt, and borrowing billions more to invest puts taxpayers on the hook if things go wrong.

Canadians are struggling with the cost of living, and we already have private Canadian capital leaving the country because opportunities here are too uncertain. Before creating another government fund, we need to ask whether this approach actually helps Canadians — or just adds more risk.

Canada’s national debt has passed $1.4 trillion — and Canadians are paying the price.
In Question Period today, I pressed the government on rising deficits, inflation, and the growing cost of servicing debt, which now averages nearly $2,000 per Canadian each year.
Canadians are paying more and getting less.

A More Dangerous World - and Canada's Energy Choice 04/27/2026

🌍 A More Dangerous World — and Canada’s Energy Choice

With growing global instability and conflict in the Middle East, energy security is no longer an abstract issue — it’s a national one.

In my latest newsletter, I look at what recent events abroad mean for Canada, and why the Alberta–Canada Memorandum of Understanding matters in this moment — not as a headline, but as a test of whether Ottawa is prepared to match words with action.

A meaningful evening commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Kapyong at The Military Museums in Calgary. Grateful to join Calgary Salutes in honouring the extraordinary service and sacrifice of the 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, during the Korean War.

I toured the Good Companions 50+ club and met the new executive director, Padraig. Thanks for inviting me to pop into the Men's Sheds, a group designed to help men find connections, support, and socialization in retirement.

I delivered closing remarks to the Powering Prosperity summit hosted by Canada Powered by Women. The day brought together leaders from across sectors to focus on practical, business-driven solutions that connect energy policy to economic growth and everyday affordability. About 600 people attended at the BMO Centre.
