Happy Mother’s Day to all of the curling moms. Thank you for the endless support, sacrifices, and everything you do to make our athletic journeys possible. From coaching and driving, to feeding us between games, organizing schedules, working with sponsors, booking travel, managing team finances, coordinating team activities, helping with social media, and cheering the loudest from the stands — you do it all and more.
We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and love you pour into our teams every single day. Your support goes far beyond the ice, and we wouldn’t be where we are without you. Today we celebrate all of the amazing curling moms who help make this sport and our seasons so special

This week is National Volunteer Week!
We want to extend a huge thank you to the volunteers who make our program possible—especially our coaches. Every day, volunteer coaches are creating positive, safe, and inclusive sport experiences that shape not only athletes, but people. Your time, care, and energy make a lasting impact on our athletes and our community.
A special shoutout as well to the many volunteers working behind the scenes. From serving on boards, to running bonspiels, organizing provincial and national events, making ice, and everything in between—you are the heartbeat of our sport.
Quite simply, our sport doesn’t happen without you. Thank you.

Our year-end celebration banquet was the perfect way to cap off our 9th season.
Our coaches shared some great memories from the year, and we enjoyed a collection of photos and videos—including a pause in the festivities to take in the always-entertaining Reese tumbles montage.
We had the chance to celebrate our athletes, recognize award recipients, share our thanks, and most importantly, spend time together as a group.
Thank you to everyone who made the effort to join us, including Micah and Dawn from Absolute Athletic Therapy. A special shoutout as well to Bernice from Curlers Corner. While she wasn’t able to join us for dinner, she has been a long-time supporter of our program and our athletes—junior curling wouldn’t be the same without you.
Thank you to our athletes and coaches for another inspiring season, and to the parents for your continued support along the way.

The final award of the evening was the Ian Merrick Award, selected by the coaches.
This award is presented to an athlete who represents the core values of our program—respect, community, sportsmanship, and giving back. It’s also a way for us to honour Ian, by recognizing an athlete who truly embodies the ideals he held so strongly.
Congratulations to Kaden Pushak on receiving this year’s award!
Kaden’s support of fellow athletes, eagerness to learn, willingness to help, enthusiastic cheerleading, and consistently positive attitude made him an easy choice.
We hope to see your smiling face around curling clubs for years to come, continuing to represent and promote the values that make our sport so special.
Congratulations, Kaden!

We continued the evening by presenting the Peer Sportsmanship Award—one of the most meaningful honours of the night.
Congratulations to Kieran Roa on receiving this award!
Reese and Nolan did an outstanding job representing the athletes as they presented the award, speaking to Kieran’s sportsmanship, kindness, and the way she consistently supports her fellow competitors.
There’s something truly special about being recognized by your peers, and this award is a reflection of the respect Kieran has earned from those around her.
Congratulations, Kieran!

Last week, we came together for our annual celebration banquet—a chance to relive the great moments from the season and celebrate everything we accomplished as a group.
One of the highlights of the evening was recognizing our end-of-year Hot Shots winners.
Our highest average team honours went to Clara, Kaitlin, and Mike from Team Roa.
On the individual side, we had a tie for top spot, with Nolan and Spencer from Team Duncan both earning top honours.
Our top U15 scorer was Oscar from Team Salter-Pedersen—an outstanding achievement!
Congratulations to all of our winners, and to everyone who made the night such a fun and memorable event.
A special thank you to our program sponsor, Curlers Corner, for their generous support and prizes.
