✨ From Pony Club to the Racetrack: women taking the lead
A special HRWA (Horse Racing Women's Association) event at Century Mile in Edmonton is bringing women together through education, mentorship, and connection—showcasing the growing impact of women in the Thoroughbred industry.
With record-breaking achievements by female trainers and Alberta leading the way in participation, the future of racing is more inclusive than ever.
💡 Two of these leaders started as Pony Clubbers in Alberta North—Jodie Vella-Gregory (B2, Clement & Devonshire Pony Clubs) and Kathy Butkovic (D2, Clement Pony Club).
In a sport—and a Pony Club community—where many members are girls and young women, it’s inspiring to see those early experiences lead to leadership roles in the industry.
It’s incredible to see what our alumni have achieved and how Pony Club opens doors to so many paths in the equine industry and beyond 🐴💙

✨ Think Before You Post
Sharing Pony Club moments is fun—but let’s keep it respectful and safe for everyone
👀 Before you hit “post”:
• Got permission? Always ask before posting pics/videos of others
• Keep private info OFF your posts (no names, locations, or details)
• Save the event highlights for AFTER it’s over, not in real time
• Make sure your content is respectful and reflects Pony Club values
• Limit detailed event info to participants and organizers only
Together, we can create a positive, safe, and supportive online space for everyone 🌟

Strong Mind Soft Hands is launching a global project in collaboration with the Pony Club International Alliance (PCIA) 💌🌍
“Letters to Riders Around the World” is a space for riders to share honest, supportive messages with one another - the kind you wish someone had written to you when things felt hard.
We’re inviting riders from all over the world to help shape this project by sharing what they would like to write about and/or like to read from another rider. Think themes like:
• A letter to the rider who feels like quitting
• A letter to the rider who feels alone
• A letter to the rider who has lost confidence
This is an anonymous form, and all responses will be used to help guide the direction of the final project. Please note not all suggested topics will be used, as we need to ensure everything fits within the overall purpose and wellbeing focus of the initiative.
Your voice helps shape something bigger than just one story - it helps build connection across riders worldwide 🤍
