Science meets survival this : Your brain is ~75% water, your blood is 83%, and even tiny dehydration can shrink brain cells and slow thinking. Water isn’t just life—it’s the engine of every cell, thought, and heartbeat. Protect it, conserve it, respect it. Every drop counts.

🍀 Fun fact about St. Patrick’s Day: The holiday honors Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland—but he wasn’t actually Irish! He was born in Roman Britain and later brought Christianity to Ireland. Another surprise: the original color associated with the celebration was blue, not green. Today the day is famous for shamrocks, parades, and even rivers turning green—like the one in Chicago. Whether you're wearing green or learning the history, it’s a fun way to celebrate Irish culture around the world. 🍀

Neurodiversity Week is an inspiring and educational experience that creates awareness and appreciation for diverse minds. The week-long initiative engages students, staff, and teachers in meaningful activities that celebrate neurodivergent individuals and their unique strengths.
The phrase “Neurodiversity is the next frontier of diversity.” expresses the idea that differences in how human brains work should be recognized and respected as a natural form of human diversity—similar to how society now recognizes diversity in race, gender, culture, or sexuality.

“The undeniable truth is this: AI has become an unstoppable force in academics—powerful, transformative, and reshaping how we learn and create. But like any great tool, its impact is only as strong as the boundaries that guide it. With thoughtful regulation, AI becomes less of a shortcut and more of a catalyst, helping students think deeper, explore further, and elevate the work they produce. It’s not about replacing human intellect—it’s about amplifying it with intention, integrity, and a whole lot of innovation.”

Tutoring has been shown to significantly improve academic performance by providing individualized instruction that reinforces course material and addresses learning gaps. Research indicates that students who participate in structured tutoring programs demonstrate higher grades, improved test scores, and greater content mastery compared to peers without such support (Bloom, 1984; Nickerson, 2007). Tutoring also fosters the development of essential study skills—including time management, problem-solving, and effective note-taking—which are transferable across subjects and promote long-term learning (Fuchs et al., 2008). Moreover, individualized attention enhances students’ confidence and self-efficacy, increasing engagement and persistence in challenging courses (Topping, 1996). By offering early feedback and targeted interventions, tutoring not only strengthens immediate academic outcomes but also contributes to equity and accessibility in education, helping close achievement gaps for underrepresented or struggling students (Robinson et al., 2005). One-on-one tutoring goes beyond traditional instruction by giving students the space to discover how they learn best, rather than forcing them to fit a one-size-fits-all curriculum. In this personalized environment, learners can experiment, reflect, and adapt strategies that align with their unique cognitive strengths, turning every session into a tailored roadmap for success. It’s not just about mastering content—it’s about empowering students to understand themselves as learners and take ownership of their educational journey.

Here are the 5 D’s of bystander intervention, framed in honour of Bullying Awareness Week:
1. Distract – Subtly interrupt the situation to diffuse tension. This can be as simple as starting a conversation with the targeted person, asking for directions, or creating a moment that disrupts the bully’s focus.
2. Delegate – Seek help from someone in a position of authority, such as a teacher, counselor, supervisor, or another trusted adult. Bystanders don’t have to act alone to make a difference.
3. Document – If it’s safe and appropriate, record or note what’s happening. Documentation can support the targeted person later, but always check with them before sharing it.
4. Delay – If you can’t intervene in the moment, offer support afterwards. A simple “Are you okay?” or “I saw what happened—how can I help?” can be incredibly validating and healing.
5. Direct – When safe, address the behavior directly by telling the bully to stop or checking in with the targeted person in the moment. Even a short, calm interruption can shift the power dynamic.
