Did you know this clock has been around longer than us? It was the same clock that lived in the milk bar of the Model Milk Dairy back in the 30s. Here, Calgarians would enjoy milkshakes and the city’s largest five-cent ice cream cones. Today and for the past decade, Calgarians and beyond have come to enjoy our comforting and innovative food.

The postcards you see along the walls upstairs are part of a student project developed by Alison Andersen (.andersen) at NSCAD. Each postcard was hand-picked for its text and/or design at various antique and second-hand shops around Halifax. Intended to represent nostalgia, connection and storytelling, weaving these intimate messages and moments creates a greater continuous narrative, fitting for Model Milk and our unique history.

Sitting across from each other against the Model Milk wall in October 2014, Adam May and Christine had their first date, enjoying the Rib Eye (which has returned for our 10th Anniversary) and Calamari Fricassee (which has never left the menu!).

"I suppose the most memorable part of the date was sharing our first kiss in the Model Milk parking lot," recalled Adam.

Adam eventually proposed to Christine in Model Citizen, and they've been married now for seven years, regularly returning for date night. So, if you're wondering where to take that special someone, look no further. ❤️
