Calgary Karate Do

Hello Everyone! We are excited to announce that Calgary Karate Do will be open for training starting July 6, 2020. Same time same place. See you there!

Karate is the art of self defense. And throughout our teachings we learn that avoiding dangerous situations is the best way to stay safe. Today we implement that lesson in a different way than expected. Calgary Karate Do will be closed for the upcoming weeks until the threat of Covid-19 has been reduced. But, this doesn't mean you have to stop training! Train at home: practice kata, practice kihon, stretch - just make sure you dont break Mom's favorite vase!

Tonight is the big night! Everyone has been working really hard, I can't wait to see everyone's demos at the Christmas Party. See you all at the dojo, starting at 6:45pm🥋🥋🥋

10:00 - 12:00 - Warm up and General Training
12:00 - 12:30 - Break (members should bring a light lunch)
12:30 - 1:30 - Review of Selected Kata
1:30 - 3:00 - Kobudo K**A kata (Kihon no K**a, Kanegawa no K**a, Tozan nicho Gama)
3:00 - 4:00 - Choice of: Muso Shinden Ryu Iai or Batto-do (members must have proper equipment and fundamental skills - no beginners) or Self-Defense applications from Kata.

Eligibility: The Demura Cup is open to all brown, red and black belts aged 14 years and above. Genbukai members only.

Juniors 14 – 17 years. Adult 18 years and up.
Events: Tokui Kata, Seitei Kata, Kumite. and Kobudo .
Awards: Medallions for all top three
place finishers.
Keeper Awards for overall champions.
