Dr. Bogle performed root canal treatment on tooth #37 that had developed pulpal necrosis. The referring dentist astutely placed a temporary crown first to assess restorability due to a fractured cusp. Dr. Bogle noted from the pre-op CBCT internal calcifications and multiple curves (S-shaped) in the mesial root. Clinically, he was able to keep the access opening conservative, all while effectively cleaning/shaping the canals and maintaining the natural canal anatomy.

Dr. Crisanti was presented with a case requiring #33 RCT that was previously initiated. There were 2 separated instruments present (1 and 2). He was able to conservatively remove the long separated file (1), however he was unable to retrieve the smaller piece (2) near the root apex. It was successfully bypassed and apical patency achieved. Calcium hydroxide was placed for 3 months and the periapical radiolucency near the previous surgical screws improved. The patient was asymptomatic and obturation was completed.

Dr. Lai performed a retreatment on tooth #24 using an unique creative approach. The obturant present within the canals was noted to be plastic thermafil carriers. He was able to conservatively remove them with a System B heat tip (see photos). Subsequently, obturation was successfully completed to the root apex. Note the great healing of the apical lesion on the 6 month follow-up CBCT!
