How do you make 44 different sounds out of 26 letters?
Sounds like a brain teaser doesn’t it!
That’s what the English language involves … permutations and combinations of the 26 letters in the alphabet form 44 distinct sound units called phonemes.
It’s referred to as a code - ‘breaking the code’ can be extremely difficult for people with dyslexia.

A person with dyslexia has difficulty with phonological processing.
What does that mean?
Basically it involves the sounds of language. This skill is essential for reading and writing.
These cards are just one tool that is used during the lesson to develop and improve phonological processing.
