A generation that walked to school and back home.
A generation that finished homework fast just to get outside and play.
A generation that spent every spare moment on the streets with friends.
A generation that played hide and seek until the night fell.
A generation that made mud pies and built memories.
A generation that traded and collected sports cards.
A generation that searched for empty Coke bottles, washed them, and returned them for five cents each — just enough for a Mountain Dew and a candy bar.
A generation that crafted paper toys with bare hands.
A generation that bought vinyl records and played them over and over.
A generation that filled photo albums with clippings and snapshots of childhood moments.
A generation that played board games and cards on rainy afternoons.
A generation whose TV went off at midnight — right after the National Anthem.
A generation raised by parents who were present.
A generation that laughed quietly under the covers, pretending to be asleep.
A generation that is slowly fading — and one that will never return, no matter how much we wish it could.

I loved growing up when I did.
It truly was the best of times. ❤️✍️
