Happy Flower Friday 🌷 You may notice I post a lot of photos from Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area and that is because it is absolutely gorgeous there! And it features so many wildflowers.

I had a hard time with identifying this one but I think it is wild alfalfa – correct me if I am wrong. Normally planted by farmers, this plant is now found throughout North America and Europe 🗺

Life has been busy so this is a little late…but happy Flower Friday and Summer Solstice 🌞

Pictured here is the golden or buffalo bean wildflower. It is found in sandy soil, like the prairies, where the water table is high. But its range is limited in Canada and the flower is mostly found in southern Alberta and Saskatchewan. Despite "bean" being in its name, this wildflower is poisonous to humans and livestock 💀
