Indigenous Relations Advisor Shannon Polches connected with Mary Black and other industry leaders, partners and community members, building meaningful relationships and discussing the future of energy in Atlantic Canada.

Every September 30, we pause to remember. The history of residential schools is part of this country's story, and today we honour the survivors who lived it and the families who carry it forward.

We also recognize the strength and resilience of Indigenous Peoples in the communities where we live and work. That recognition comes with a commitment: to keep listening, keep learning, and build workplaces grounded in respect.

There are many ways to learn, reflect and show your support. We encourage employees to visit the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation for resources and opportunities to learn more about the histories and cultures of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples.

Four new hires. One week. Real skills, real results.

Valard's newest apprentices spent a week at Apprentice Bootcamp putting their training to work — hands-on technical instruction, rescue training, and one-on-one coaching built around the real work waiting for them on their crews.

From insulator changes and grounding to transformer dressing, pole handling, and truck and trailer operation, every session was built with one goal: get these apprentices field-ready, confident, and set up to succeed from day one.
