Does this sound familiar?
“I’m eating the same way I always have… why do I feel like this?”
For a long time that way of eating probably did work.
But this stage hits different.
Perimenopause and menopause change how your body handles things.
Digestion slows down a bit.
Your body doesn’t deal with stress the same.
Sleep gets lighter.
And foods you didn’t even think twice about before… suddenly feel heavier or just don’t sit right.
So you keep trying to do the same things that used to work, and it’s frustrating when they don’t anymore.
Your body just isn’t as forgiving as it used to be.
And that’s usually the point where things need to shift a bit too.

This phase can feel really confusing.
One minute you feel fine, and the next your digestion is off, your sleep isn’t the same, your energy is all over the place, and your mood just feels… different.
And a lot of women don’t connect it.
Perimenopause and menopause don’t just affect your cycle. They affect how your whole body functions.
Digestion can slow down.
Foods you used to tolerate don’t sit the same.
Sleep gets lighter or more broken.
Stress hits harder and sticks around longer.
So you can be doing the exact same things you’ve always done… and feel completely different.
That’s usually the turning point.
It’s not about trying harder or cutting more foods.
It’s about realizing your body needs a different kind of support now.
Something simpler.
More consistent.
Something that actually works with your body in this phase instead of against it.

I'm hearing this more and more in clinic.
Women 35-55 coming in saying they feel bloated all the time, their anxiety is higher than usual, sleep is off, and food just isn’t sitting the way it used to. And they’re confused because nothing major has changed, at least not on the surface.
But when you look a little closer, it usually didn’t come out of nowhere.
This is the phase where hormones start to shift, and when that happens, it doesn’t just affect one thing. It can throw off digestion, impact mood, mess with sleep, and make your body respond differently to foods you’ve eaten your whole life without thinking twice.
That’s usually the part people don’t connect.
They think it’s something they ate, or that they need to cut more foods, or try something new. But most of the time, it’s not about doing more. It’s about understanding that your body is changing and it needs a different kind of support now.
What used to feel easy just doesn’t feel the same anymore… and that’s where most people start to feel stuck.

Cutting foods can help for a bit.
But if you keep going, it usually starts to backfire.
I see people end up eating less and less, cutting out entire food groups, and missing out on nutrients their body actually needs.
And they still don’t feel better.
That’s when it’s time to shift the approach.

I just enrolled in a 6 month Women’s Hormone Health Certification and I’m honestly really excited to go deeper into this area.
Hormones and gut health are so tightly connected, and it’s something I see all the time. Perimenopause and menopause are not that far off for me, and I also know I carry a lot of stress, so this feels like the right time to really understand what’s happening in the body on a deeper level.
This program covers everything from the HPA axis and adrenal health to painful or heavy cycles, PCOS, infertility, metabolic issues and so much more. My intention is to combine this with the gut work I already do so I can support women in a more complete way.
I’ll be sharing things I learn along the way, so you can learn with me too.
