Pictures from the landslide/mudslide that closed the Trans-Canada the other day (now FULLY OPEN)

AB: Significant rainfall is expected across western and central Alberta beginning later tonight and continuing into Wednesday, with total rainfall amounts of 50 to 100 mm. Meltwater flooding is already occurring in rivers coming from the Rockies.

BC: Landslide on Trans-Canada Highway #1 Golden to Revelstoke for 142.8 km. The closure was due to a landslide west of Skunk Cabbage Boardwalk in Mount Revelstoke National Park, just east of Revelstoke. Assessment in progress. Detour not available.
UPDATE 9 am: Highway OPEN with single-lane alternating traffic. EXPECT CONGESTION and delays. Full reopening by 10:30 am Pacific.
UPDATE 11 am: Highway #1 east of Revelstoke is reported fully open.
It was also reported that the water supply to some hotels on Revelstoke was affected by last night's rockslide.

This morning, we were hit by a DDoS attack (Distributed Denial of Service) which effectively shut down our site. We have not yet determined the source of the attack(s) but are determined it will not impact our users again.

NL: The closure of the St John's Outer Ring Road (from Kenmount Road to Logy Bay Road interchange) will be closed on Sunday, May 31, from 7 am to 7 pm for a cleanup of litter and large discarded items.

Traffic control will be in place on the highway to guide motorists and ease the flow of traffic along with digital display sign along the Outer Ring Road to give advance notice of the closure.

During the closure, eastbound traffic will take the off-ramp to Kenmount Road at Donovan’s Overpass. Westbound traffic will access the Trans-Canada Highway through the on-ramp at Donovan’s Overpass.

During the clean-up, barricades will be erected to prohibit access at all entry points:
