🚕 Social Taxi – June Update from Lviv Region

In June, the Social Taxi team in Lviv and surrounding communities continued their vital work supporting those with limited access to transportation and essential services.

✅ 21 rides were completed, helping individuals with disabilities and vulnerable community members get to medical appointments and other critical destinations.

While transportation remained a key focus, the team also deepened their outreach at the Roma camp, where they:
Continued teaching and educational support for local children
Worked to identify reliable contractors for a much-needed well drilling project, aiming to improve access to clean water.

Southern Ukraine Humanitarian Project – July Update

Thanks to your continued support, our team delivered 690–700 food bags and clothing items to families in need this July.

We reached the following areas:

📍 Mykolaiv Region: Krasnivka, Lisove

In May, thanks to your generous donations, MMC delivered over 750 food bags to families in war-affected areas of Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions. Each bag helps a family of two survive for two weeks, a lifeline for many who have lost everything.
Behind the scenes, Valerii, our dedicated onsite manager, and his team of volunteers continue working tirelessly. These volunteers sort, pack, transport, and distribute food to the most vulnerable: the elderly, disabled, and families with children. Many walk or bike for kilometres just to receive aid, as vehicles and fuel are scarce.
🏚️ The devastation in Ukraine is growing. Schools, hospitals, homes, all are being destroyed by ongoing attacks. And yet, the spirit of the people remains strong.
The need is growing, and so must our response.

🚕💙 Social Taxi + Roma Camps Aid: May Update

In May, Medical Mercy Canada helped to expand an amazing service in Lviv - the Free Social Taxi, run by Light for the World.
Each week, dozens of people use the taxi to get to the hospital, therapy, or important appointments. It helps them stay healthy and connected even if they can't afford transport. Many passengers have no other way to reach facilities, some live alone, or are too weak to use public transport. Thanks to the Social Taxi, they don’t have to miss medical care or feel left out

We also continued helping Roma families in camps next to Lviv. where families often face extreme poverty, limited access to healthcare, and discrimination.
