Calgary Humane Society Facebook Community Standards
At Calgary Humane Society we operate based on the values of empathy and respect for all living things with the goal of creating a more compassionate society. Our community standards can be summarized in three main categories:
Respectful communication:
All members are expected to be respectful in how they communicate at all times. We understand that from time to time there will be disagreements, but at all times the communication must remain respectful. Profanity, hateful comments, racist statements, libelous content and personal attacks will result in comment deletion, warnings or participation bans. No solicitation:
Any and all fundraising/event notifications posted on Calgary Humane Society’s Facebook community must be given explicit permission. Solicitation of our community members for fundraising or petitions is NOT permitted. Absolutely no links to personal fundraising pages (GoFundMe etc.) are permitted on the CHS Facebook Community. If you are hosting an event to raise funds for Calgary Humane Society that you would like mentioned on our page please contact our page administrator or our resource development team to discuss. Respect for privacy:
Calgary Humane Society is engaged under provincial legislation to uphold the Alberta Animal Protection Act. As such, we have a duty to protect the integrity of the investigations we conduct. We also have a duty to protect the identity and information of our clients. Any posts that pose a risk to an investigation or are a potential violation of existing privacy legislation will be removed from the page. Calgary Humane Society reserves the right to delete any posts that are in violation of our community standards, send warnings regarding community conduct and block individuals from further posting on our Facebook community at our sole discretion. If you have questions regarding our community standards or have a concern regarding the conduct of an individual on our community page, please contact our page administrator.

Cat and Dog Adoptions fees covered by Mars! 🐶🐱
From Oct 2-4th, Mars, Incorporated and PEDIGREE Foundation will sponsor cat and dog adoption fees 🥳! All adoptions will be done by walk-in only. Mars will also be distributing adoption kits with free pet food and other pet essentials to help new pet parents *while supplies last.
Together, Calgary Humane and Mars are helping clear the path to adoption so more pets can find and remain in loving homes.

💚 Look at those eyes 💚!
🐻 Bear, like his namesake, enjoys his independence! He is quite content having time to himself each day but loves when company is close by. Bear is a big fan of body doubling, and then nudging you when he is ready for some pets 🐾!
He would love to have a cat tower, or two, where he can go and enjoy some solo time 😌!
When his boundaries are respected, Bear really bonds with people. He can be affectionate and has a big heart 😸!

A land seal has made his way into our shelter 🦭🐕!
This handsome pup is known for his facial expressions and real-time reactions 🐶. Sebastian will immediately share his excited smile when it's walk time, and his side-eye when more treats are a no-go 😅!
Most of the time though, he is just a happy, smiling guy. It's genuinely impossible not to fall in love with curious, cuddly Sebastian! His best reaction though...will be when you adopt him 🥰!

🥹 Remember Lola? She URGENTLY needs a foster home 🚨🏠!
The shelter environment is too overwhelming for her, and she needs to be in a space where she can fell her best ASAP! It is critical that we find this sweet girl a safe home where she can settle and decompress 💞.
At this time, Lola does best as the only dog in the home. If you have the capacity, patience, and love to give, please reach out to foster Lola today 🐕! She is a joyful, affectionate, and loyal girl that just wants a calm space while she waits for her forever family to find her 😇.

Our humane education team has revamped fall clubs and channeled their creativity and love for animals into these fun and educational experiences 🐰🐶.
Your child can join us for evenings full of animal interactions, crafts, hands on experience working with our volunteer team around the shelter, and more 😄!
