βœ… 3-Year Work Permit Approved in Less Than 1 Month πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

Another successful outcome for our client under the Francophone Mobility Program.

This LMIA-exempt work permit can allow eligible applicants who meet the program requirements and have a qualifying job offer to obtain a Canadian work permit for up to 3 years.

For many workers in Canada, this can be an excellent option to continue working legally and strengthen their pathway to Canadian PR.

Alberta PNP – Opportunity Stream (AOS) eligibility is not the same for everyone.

Workers and PGWP holders have different requirements.

You generally need a valid work permit in Alberta, an eligible occupation, a full-time Alberta job offer, and the required work experience.

PGWP holders must also meet Alberta education and field-of-study rules.

Important: maintained/implied status or restoration status is not enough for this stream.

For ECE / child care workers, Alberta requires valid Level 2 or Level 3 Early Childhood Educator certification.

Save this before applying.

🚨 A Toronto Star article published today has sparked concerns about so-called β€œdummy” work permit extension applications.

However, IRCC’s comments focused on misrepresentation. If a person lies, submits false documents, or withholds important information, they can face serious consequences, including a 5-year ban.

What IRCC did NOT say is that simply applying for a work permit extension before your current permit expires is improper or that the work experience gained afterwards does not count.

If you remain authorized to work in Canada while your extension application is being processed, the work experience you gain can count toward Express Entry and other Canadian PR pathways.

The key issue is honesty and compliance with Canadian immigration laws, not the fact that a work permit extension application was submitted.

🚨 Big IRCC Update for PNP Applicants

Already submitted your PNP PR application?

You may no longer need to wait for your AOR (application number) before applying for a bridging open work permit.

This temporary measure could help many applicants who have been stuck waiting months for their AOR due to processing delays.

This only applies to people who have already submitted a PR application under a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

🚨 Important IRCC Update for PNP Applicants

Applied for permanent residence under a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) stream but still waiting for your AOR?

IRCC has introduced temporary measures that may help certain PNP applicants in Canada apply for a work permit without an AOR.

This may apply to:
βœ” PNP Bridging Open Work Permits (A75)
βœ” PNP Employer-Specific Work Permits (T13)
βœ” Eligible Spousal Open Work Permits

If an AOR has not yet been issued, IRCC may accept alternative proof that your PR application was submitted and received.

Important:
β€’ Applies only to in-Canada work permit applications
β€’ PR application must already be submitted
β€’ All other eligibility requirements still apply
β€’ Does not guarantee PR approval
β€’ Temporary measure until December 31, 2026

Save this post if you’re waiting for a PNP AOR or application number.
