Caffe Crema

In a previous Lifetime 14 years ago I made this video with Calgary Band called Silence In B'tween during a charity concert event for Distress Centre Calgary at Caffe Crema.

Seeing Song Song Blue on the big screen this past week (for the second time) reminded me of this clip and decided to post it up again).

I did make one big mistake with this video in that I didn't capture the crowd dancing, going nuts and singing during the song.

This wonderful group did a bunch of Charity Concerts at Caffe Crema and are still performing today.

Can you believe it? We are coming up to the 12th Christmas since Caffe Crema closed.

So many great memories still flowing through my mind.

Yes it was great coffee - the best coffee.

Yes there was great pastries - the best.

But what made this place was the people.

They truly were the best.

The family that owned the place.

The staff that loved working there.

The Musicians who played there.

The Community of Customers who made it their home.

All Were Superstars in My Book.

This place was a One of a Kind Miracle I will remember, Always.

I have had many great accomplishments in life but none were greater than when I came up with the name for this Caffe Crema desert.

Chocolypse Now exploded on your taste buds with 10 megatons of Chocolatey goodness that you would never forget.

So Proud, So Proud.

Caffe Crema

This won't be on the Hallmark Channel but it is a Caffe Crema Christmas. This picture is from 2009 the first Christmas of the wonderful Caffe Crema.

This was the first Christmas Card to ever stand on the Caffe Crema counter. It was lonely for a while as the place had just opened a few months earlier and was still building up it's regular clientele but it was joined by many more over the years.

The jingle was inspired by the cold blast of winter that had arrived the night before, plus I had recently seen that old movie Billy Jack again and had that song One Tin Soldier stuck in my head.

It is interesting that this occurred to me today, and this is kinda of cosmic, today of all days December 12. Tom Laughlin who played Billy Jack and pushed the distribution when the movies companies would not, died on December 12, 2013, may he Rest in Peace.

In 2019, it was revealed that writer-director Quentin Tarantino and actor Brad Pitt used the film and Laughlin's performance as an influence while developing Pitt's character in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

So don't you feel all Christmassy now cause now you know the rest of the story of the First Caffe Crema Christmas Card.

Now where is that Santa Video, people would love that...
