Black Light

Merry Christmas, everyone! Though Black Light hasn’t been terribly busy with public appearances the last couple of months, we can assure you that we are still hard at work. We had to exit the hamster wheel of booking gigs for a short period of time while we searched for a new lead singer, but for those who were at Big Al’s in October can attest that Emma is doing a masterful job of filling the big shoes that Kelly left.

In the interim, we’ve been learning new material, tightening the screws on existing songs, and making improvements to our rehearsal space. We’ve upgraded some of the audio equipment, created a designated lounge space for post-rehearsal drinks, as well as filling the refrigerator with cold beverages.

We want to thank everyone for your continued support, and wish you a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year! Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday, February 7th at Big Al's Bar & Grill!

Hi all - this Saturday(Oct 18), Black Light will be part of this multi-band fundraiser being held at the Border Crossing in honour of Jori Enberg - a great lady if there ever was one. Hello all!! Well, after six weeks of focused rehearsal and an inaugural gig under our belts, it is with great pleasure that we introduce to you the new lead vocalist of Black Light, Emma Russell. We are pretty darned proud of her - in a short space of time she learned a large volume of material and hit the stage like a ball of fire. For those of you who were at Big Al's Bar & Grill on Saturday night, you know what we are talking about.

Speaking of, we would like to thank everyone who came out to support us this past Saturday night - you made the night a memorable one for us. We appreciate our long time followers, and we had a great time making new friends.

Black Light is back in action this weekend!! It is the debut weekend for our new lead singer, and we are pretty darned excited. We will be at Big Al's Bar & Grill this Saturday night (Oct 11) from 9pm to 1am. We’ve added some different material to the show, and it is very danceable. So come burn off those Thanksgiving calories in advance - we will see you on the dance floor!!

Hi all - we hope everyone is having an enjoyable summer, and taking advantage of the great outdoors. We are remaining busy working behind the scenes, but wanted to pop in and say hello to you, the friends of Black Light. We look forward to seeing everyone again early in the fall. Black Light returns to the North this Friday night (June 6th) at the Brickwell Taphouse - one night only! 8:30pm start. We encourage everyone to pop in and say hello, as it will be Kelly’s second to last weekend with the band. We are going to miss her terribly, so let’s give her the proper send off that she richly deserves, and has earned. Come hear her powerhouse vocals, while dancing up a storm. See you there!
