Needed a simple beading project to get my mind back to being creative... the raccoon cabs saved the day 😅🤣

Who knows the english name for this relative?

Mītsī dīgóyi was one of the first plants that I built a relationship with when I was a kid. So it holds a soft spot in heart.

The Tsuut'ina direct translation is extremely literal - Mī: he/she/they(singular), tsī: head, dīgóyi: white

Who knows some of the benefits of mītsī dīgóyi? Whether its for the land or us!

Every day is Earth day.

In case anyone needed a reminder of my view points, as a Tsuut'ina Two-Spirit Artist and Land Caretaker, I am for the people and land.

Which means f*ck genocide, f*ck ICE, people deserve access to food, water & housing, communities deserve + need sovereignty over their territories, pro-choice, transgender rights.

Don't know how to help some of these situations as the world issues seem overwhelming?
Attend local events that support raising funds or educating around these situations, donating to these causes (doesnt need to be money, I donated beadwork), educating yourself!

Theres always ways to connect with land besides a good hike.
Gardening has proven to lower your blood pressure (reducing chronic health conditions), more vitamin D, increase cognitive function (lower the risk of dementia), and overall is just a fun activity when you get to do it with community.
