The old thought was that black cars looked better in the shade. I would argue that they (or dark blue cars) look better reflecting aurora.

Probably closer than we would like to admit...

The cold last week was a bit too much for getting out, but did a great job on creating some interesting snow and ice sculptures at Big Hill Springs. Might not last long though; while it was -15 at home by the time we left the park it was a balmy +1 out.

Convergence Moonrise

I had been wanting to photograph this sculpture on an aurora night for quite some time; unfortunately due to clouds one evening and a petering out aurora the next night I still haven't got what I envisioned. Fortunately I turned around as I was starting to leave to notice that the moon was rising in a perfect spot between the two sculpture elements.

Visited Yellowknife, but the smoke and rain had other ideas about our aurora shooting, but there were still some fall colours available for abstracts.
