dancer, speaker, performer, workshop facilitator.
Had an awesome opportunity to dance alongside some of my favorite B-Boys and B-Girls from around the world as part of Team Red Bull BC One.
One of the things I love most about dance is how it brings people together. It was really cool to share a bit of Indigenous culture while also celebrating breaking culture and the community that comes with it.
Different styles, different backgrounds, but the same love for music, movement, and connection. Grateful to share the floor with such talented dancers.
Always curious to see how our traditional music makes people feel..this group singing is black stone singers
Met Ullugiagâtsuk, an Inuit youth group from Nunatsiavut in northern Labrador, after they opened the Indspire Awards in Halifax. We had to make a quick collab before the night ended 🔥
Always inspiring seeing Indigenous youth carry culture forward through music and performance. .ca
Which fit was your favourite..everyone was looking deadly at this years Indspire awards in Halifax
My first time dancing powwow, my friends just told me to dance my own style. Coming from the breaking scene, this is actually pretty similar to how I danced haha
This one means a lot to me.
Breaking was my first love. When I moved from my community to the city, I didn’t always feel like I had a place where I belonged… but hip hop gave me that space. It gave me a way to express myself freely and feel accepted.
Even though I’ve transitioned more into powwow and hoop dancing, I’ll always be a b-boy at heart. That’s why this moment was so special.
Growing up, we didn’t have opportunities like this. We did it for the love. So to be here now, dancing alongside some of the best in the world, sharing my culture, and creating something together in the circle… that’s something I’ll never forget.
These are dancers I’ve looked up to for years, and being able to connect, learn, and create with them meant so much to me.
I’m really grateful for this path, for staying with it, and for moments like this.
Big thank you to for bringing us all together and News for capturing it so beautifully.
Thank you to Dakota Hotain for bringing the good medicine of the drum, and my brother for sharing his gift through dance.
And to all the B-boys and B-girls who shared their stories and energy…nothing but respect. You all made this experience unforgettable.
See you at the world finals in Toronto in November!
