November 11 is Remembrance Day, a day when Canadians remember the soldiers who fought for Canada and freedoms around the world. In 1918, Canadian soldiers fought a memorable battle at Vimy Ridge in France. It was the first time soldiers from all across Canada fought together.

Diwali starts Monday October 24th. Celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Jains around the world Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, celebrates the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.
In honour of Diwali, Canada Post has issued a special fluorescent stamp illustrated by Arthur Grivel of Montreal. The stamp design shows fireworks displays and lighting of diyas, both of which are important to Diwali celebrations.
