Spring is one of the busiest times for real estate in Calgary. If selling is on your radar this year, a little preparation now can make a big difference when your home hits the market.
Here are a few simple ways to start getting your home ready:
1. Start with a deep clean and declutter
Buyers notice space and light. Clearing out excess furniture and personal items helps your home feel bigger and more inviting.
2. Tackle the small repairs
Loose handles, chipped paint, squeaky doors — they’re small things, but buyers notice them. Fixing them early makes your home feel well cared for.
3. Boost your curb appeal
First impressions matter. Fresh mulch, tidy landscaping, and a clean front entry can instantly make your home more welcoming.
4. Think about staging early
A well-staged home highlights the best features of the space and helps buyers picture themselves living there.
5. Get a pricing strategy in place
Understanding today’s market and where your home fits will help you attract serious buyers right away.
Spring can move quickly in Calgary, and the homes that prepare early tend to stand out the most.
If you’re thinking about selling this year and want to know what buyers are really looking for, I’m always happy to chat.
Thinking about renovating to sell in 2026?
We need to have a friendly-but-real conversation.
Here’s the thing: you can spend $30K on updates… and accidentally make your home look more dated if you’re following the wrong “trends.”
Case in point:
All-white kitchens — officially out.
They’re costing sellers thousands in perceived value because buyers walk in and immediately go, “Hmm… this feels a bit 2017.”
But don’t panic — this is what I’m here for.
Swipe through for the styles, finishes, and features that are actually adding value in 2026 (and the ones quietly tanking it).
Save this post if you’re planning a reno, and tell me which one surprised you.
I’ll go first: #2 has never been my thing, and I’m finally allowed to say it out loud.

Merry Christmas, everyone! 🎄
May your cookies be fresh, your coffee strong,
and the realtor in the family NOT ask when you’re buying a house today. 😉
Wishing you a cozy, joy-filled holiday surrounded by the people who make your home truly feel like home.
Whether you’re celebrating in fuzzy socks, hosting a full house, or sneaking an extra dessert — I hope today brings a little magic your way.
From my home to yours, Merry Christmas. ❤️

Who remembers using a mall pay phone to call your parents for a pickup? 🙋♀️
Extra points if you called collect and crammed “pickmeupmall” into that one-second name window.
Hi, yes… guilty. 👋
(And honestly? I’m still offended my kids will never know this level of resourcefulness.)
Swipe through these gems — phone booths, VHS tapes, the whole time-capsule buffet — and tell me which one hits the nostalgia stick the hardest.
And listen… if these slides make perfect sense to you, there’s a good chance you’re in your prime home-buying era.
Translation: you’re basically my dream client — because we speak the same “remember when?” language.
What's your best "back in the day" story, that our kids will NEVER experience?
Your turn. 👇
If your holiday to-do list looks anything like mine, it probably started with “Buy presents” and somehow turned into “Be present.”
This season tends to get loud, busy, and a tiny bit chaotic (looking at you, gift wrap avalanche). But every year I’m reminded that the best parts aren’t the things we perfectly plan — it’s the memories that sneak in between.
So here’s your permission slip to:
🎄 Swap “matching ornaments” for moments with your people
🎄 Replace “make cookies” with making memories
🎄 Send good vibes to the ones who truly need them
🎄 And remember that what actually matters is probably already happening right at home. If this list hit a little too close to home… same.
What’s one thing you’re simplifying or letting go of this holiday season?

Let’s play a quick round of “Choose Your 2026 Home Feature.”
You’re buying a house next year…but you can only guarantee ONE must-have makes the final list.
What are you locking in?
✨ Counters you can actually cook on
✨ Lake access for those summer-forever vibes
✨ A backyard big enough for dogs, kids, or your inner gardener
✨ Natural light for days (a personal favourite)
✨ A closed kitchen so no one witnesses the mid-recipe chaos
Drop your pick below — and please include your reasoning. I need to know if we’re all the same person… or if someone out there is boldly choosing “closed kitchen” over sunshine. (No judgment, just real fascination.)
Time to play: Which Holiday Home Are You?
The designers have spoken, the results are in, and the top décor trends for 2025 are officially having their moment.
I’m personally thrilled that 90s Christmas has strutted back onto the stage. (Shoutout to every 12-year-old version of ourselves who lived for tinsel and TV specials.)
Swipe through to tour all four styles:
1️⃣ Ralph Lauren Vibes – Moody, luxe, and ready for its close-up.
2️⃣ 90’s Christmas – Nostalgia wrapped in twinkle lights.
3️⃣ Naturally Festive – Cozy, calm, and effortlessly cheerful.
4️⃣ Alpine Retreat – Think après-ski without the frostbite.
Drop your favourite in the comments — let’s see which holiday home steals the show this year. 🎄
Matching PJs the kids pretend they’ve outgrown, snowy dog walks, and Christmas concerts that get shorter every year as they get older… but I’m still clinging to every tradition I can. (I'm even still hiding the elf!)
Here’s to making the most of the moments—even when the kids roll their eyes while we match. 🎄
What traditions are you keeping alive this year?

This journey started with a maybe. She wasn’t sure she was ready to move — it had to be the perfect home.
So we took our time. We talked, toured, and even went for tea. Somewhere along the way, the search stopped feeling like work and started feeling like a friendship.
When the right home finally appeared, everything clicked. Watching her step into a space that truly felt like her was the best part of the entire process.
Grateful for clients who trust the process… and even more grateful when I get to walk away with a new friend.🥰
I’ve rounded up four standout events that bring together community, culture, and a whole lot of holiday spirit. Here’s what’s happening around the city:
🎄 Once Upon a Christmas – Heritage Park
Weekends in December + Dec 22
Think wagon rides, vintage décor, and that old-time Christmas charm we never get enough of.
🎶 Traditional Christmas – CPO x Grace Presbyterian Church
Dec 9–11
A gorgeous blend of orchestra, candlelight, and classic Christmas favourites.
🎁 Jingle Mingle 2025 – TELUS Convention Centre
Dec 13
A festive business community event with local vendors, networking, and great energy.
✨ Glow Calgary – Indoor Lights Festival
All December
Millions of lights, glowing tunnels, and the warmest indoor escape from “Alberta cold.”
If you check any of these out, I’d love to hear what you thought — and feel free to share this with someone planning their December outings!

The short answer is yes. This is called dual agency or transaction brokerage, and it’s allowed here in Alberta.
In this setup, I act as a neutral guide. I help both parties with the process and paperwork, but I don’t provide strategic advice to either side. It’s designed to keep things fair, clear, and transparent. This option works best when the deal is straightforward and everyone wants a smooth transaction.
And of course—having separate representation is always an option too.
If you ever have questions about how representation works in Calgary real estate, I’m always here to help.
