A psycho-educational assessment helps identify how an individual learns, processes information, and navigates academic, social, and emotional experiences, providing clarity, direction, and support for next steps.

Our assessments are completed by a team of Registered Psychologists, Registered Provisional Psychologists, and Master’s and PhD level practicum and internship students, and are available for children (6+), adolescents, and adults.

This process is designed to help individuals better understand their unique learning profile so they can move forward with greater confidence and the right supports in place.

At Foothills Academy Society, bursaries are available to help make psycho-educational assessments more accessible, with support provided based on family income and individual needs.

We recently received a generous donation of $300 worth of native wildflowers from the Canadian Wildlife Federation / Fédération canadienne de la faune!

Our students have been hard at work planting the wildflowers near our front entrance, helping to create a beautiful and welcoming space.

We can’t wait to watch them grow and bloom in the months ahead! A heartfelt thank you to the Canadian Wildlife Federation for this generous contribution and for helping us bring a little more colour to our Foothills community.

5 ways to practice numeracy at home! Make math fun and part of everyday life with these simple activities you can try at home.

- I Spy Shapes - Take turns finding objects by shape and guessing what each other sees.
- Practice telling time with an analog clock
- Hopscotch - Turn hopscotch into a math game by adding, subtracting, or multiplying when landing on squares.
- Dots and Boxes - Fill each box with a math fact. Take turns solving equations and claiming sides. When a box is complete, colour it in and see who wins the most.
- Egg Hunts - Hide math vocabulary words in plastic eggs. After finding them, have your child explain the meaning.

Simple, engaging activities like these help build confidence and strengthen numeracy skills at home.

We are saddened to hear of the loss of Mel Grainger, who was one of the original Board members of Foothills Academy in 1979.

Mel was a delight to know, and a great supporter of Foothills Academy over the years.

Today, we celebrated our incredible grade 12 students with a Graduation March! As they made their way through the school, staff and students lined the hallways with signs, cheers, and applause to celebrate this exciting milestone and show their support.
