We are excited to announce another amazing tutor joining The Chiropractic Tutor Team 🧠!

Dr. Nathan Boon graduated Magna Cum Laude from CMCC. After his DC degree, he enrolled as a Resident with the RCCSS(C) and began a Master’s program at the University of Calgary with a focus on athletic testing following ACL reconstructions. While at CMCC, Dr. Boon discovered a passion for teaching through tutoring his peers in anatomy, neuroanatomy, biomechanics and orthopaedics. He has continued this passion as a TA and laboratory assistant at the university while also mentoring and providing continuing education for colleagues within his clinical practice.

𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬

We are 5 and 6 weeks away, respectively, from the Part C and Part A/B exam! Flex your mental muscle with these study tips 💪🏼🧠!

𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀: Start by gathering your study materials, notes, and textbooks. Keep them organized so you can easily access what you need.

𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲: Plan your study sessions in advance. Allocate specific times for each subject and stick to your schedule. I typically recommend to start studying 1.5-2 months in advance!

𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: Don't just passively read. Engage in active learning through practice questions, flashcards, and hands-on demonstrations.

𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽𝘀: Join a Group Session with myself and fellow candidates. Discussing topics with others can enhance your understanding and retention.

𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁: Remember to take regular breaks to prevent burnout. Short, focused study sessions with breaks are more effective.

So, what does a 1-on-1 tutoring session typically look like? Each session with myself or Dr. Sebastien is done using , so that we can work with people from all around the world. We are also able to use Zoom to share our screen to show visuals, such as X-rays!

Students typically come with specific questions or topics they wish to cover, which allows us to work through what is challenging to that particular individual! Additionally, we also review performance reports if you were unsuccessful on an exam attempt!

• I speak 4 languages - English/French/German/Dutch
• I’ve been to 20+ countries
• I like to play guitar (poorly) and built an electric guitar (also poorly)
• I spend my free time hiking and playing hockey

It’s been awhile since I’ve written one of these, so I wanted to give a little reintroduction for the new followers who have joined my page recently!

𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬

As many of you may know, there are going to be changes to the board exam format coming 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 and this has naturally created a lot of anxiety and uncertainty for many students. What we do know is that there will now be 1 written exam that will encompass all of the content that was previously tested on for Part A and B and 1 OSCE/practical exam.

Myself and .sebastiendesouza are in the thick of the unknown with you guys, but we are still ready and able to help you be as prepared as possible!

I’m excited to introduce Dr. Sebastien DeSouza, who will be working alongside myself to provide professional tutoring services through The Chiropractic Tutor. Many of you had the chance to meet him during the last round of board exams!

Dr. Sebastien DeSouza graduated Summa Cum Laude from CMCC. Throughout his undergraduate and chiropractic degrees, he enjoyed tutoring his peers through challenging courses and sharing in their journeys toward success. He loves the process of finding new and meaningful ways to engage in learning, and hopes to continue to feed that passion by helping prospective chiropractors prepare for their board exams. In his clinical practice, Dr. Sebastien sees education as a cornerstone of his treatment, using the skills he learned through tutoring to help his patients become the best version of themselves.

He brings with him a vast amount of knowledge and experience in teaching and he is looking forward to working with many of you!
