Our hearts are heavy as we continue to witness what is a systemic crisis of humanity unfold before us. It’s time to end the quiet acceptance of racism and violence and listen. Listen to those who have felt and lived the injustices of a society devoid of an ability to see a person as a human being. While we can’t imagine the pain and fear felt by so many, we can stand with you and say we hear you, and we are with you.

Slide film can be quite difficult, as its exposure latitude is far narrower than the forgiveness seen in negative film. Holding highlights AND pulling out shadows can be a pain, but regardless of the challenges slide film is incredibly fun and rewarding to shoot! I tend to rely on an external meter for shooting slides, using it to get the incident light falling on a scene. If your using a reflected or spot meter, make sure you sample from both extremes of your scene and balance it out to find the best exposure.
These are a few shots from a couple months back taken with the ‘Texas Leica’ - the Fuji GW690 III on Velvia 50.
E-6 is a development process that can be a pain for small labs like us to handle, as the chemicals involved don’t tend to keep well. If you’ve got E-6 film you’d like us to develop, you won’t find it on our order sheet, but feel free to get in touch and we can fill you in on available room / timelines! @ Elbow Falls Kananaskis

Dipping back in to the archives for some inspiration and reminding myself Film photography isn’t about the expensive gear or the best camera.
This was taken on an M42 Industar 50-2 lens screwed to an old Pentax SV. This tiny Russian 50mm f/3.5 pancake lens can be had for $20 and can give you truly impressive images. A wonderful little lens to pick up and try out, and with the myriad of M42 adapters it can be mounted on most anything.
Film: ILFORD PHOTO HP5 Plus at EI800 and souped in the ‘universal’ D-76 (1+1).

Let’s see your nifty fifty shots! Tag and we’ll share them up in our story!
