The Concrete Crew Lead will perform many tasks that require physical labor on construction sites in all types of weather conditions. This position will be required to: Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete such as floors, walks, sidewalks, walls, footings, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools and equipment. Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters; patch voids; use saws to cut contraction joints. Construct, erect, install, and repair forms and fixtures of wood or plywood using carpenter’s hand tools and power tools. Hand and power tools will be of all types, including but not limited to: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, concrete saws, surveying and measuring equipment, small equipment, and skid steer loaders. In addition, this position may be required to clean and prepare job sites, dig trenches, set braces to support form work, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and tear out concrete.

Calgary Concrete Services an Employee Owned company, currently has an immediate opening for an experienced Concrete Form Setter in our Concrete business unit.

Job Description:

The main objective of the Concrete Form Setter is to build and prepare wood forms for the construction of concrete structures including sidewalks and curb and gutter.

Requirements:

· A minimum of 2 years’ proven experience as a Form Setter with city specifications, curb and gutter, and commercial projects

· Erecting and dismantling concrete forms

· Directing placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade

· Checking formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement material

· Stripping concrete forms

· Physical fitness, including the strength and dexterity to perform heavy labor

· Willingness to work long hours

· Ability to pass mandatory Drug and Medical Screening
