So excited for our baby’s first Easter 🩵

I think not posting work I’ve done is becoming my brand. 😅Whoops.

I say I’ll work on it, but social media gets the least of my attention when it comes to photography.

Here’s a little something from the archives while I’m in between diaper changes ✌🏻

Motherhood is one of those doors you walk through and see it’s a completely different experience than you thought it was.
I need to give a huge round of applause to the moms that I know because becoming a mom is crazy, and postpartum truly is the Wild West.

I can’t tell you how much I love this baby. I’m sure other people think they have the cutest baby, but I am sure I have the cutest baby. I’m so excited to watch this little dude grow up into a little man 🥹
I am SO grateful to my family who’ve shown up to hold baby H while I take a nap, to my friends who’ve shown up with food and low expectations of what I can offer them, and to my sisters in law who did a massive (and needed) clean of our house so we could bring baby home to a calm house while we were in labour (you’re the best and you know it).

Showing up for people has a completely different meaning to me now 🩷 I can’t wait until I can start to pour back into my village the way they’ve poured into me.

“You’ve been really quiet lately.”

Yes, I definitely have been.

I have been keeping my pregnancy really private and offline, and now that we have a healthy and beautiful son, baby H, I feel really excited to share these little self portraits that I did at the end of my pregnancy.

I loved the challenge, first off, of getting photos of myself (especially with the limited mobility and challenge of how do you pose a body you’ve never been in before?) and I loved how these turned out.

I can say from experience: book the maternity photos. Or at least whip out your phone and get a few. Because once it’s done, it’s done and it can’t be recaptured.

As far as photography goes, I am currently taking a short break - except when it comes to photographing my baby 🥹. I’ll be posting when I’m back and ready to get back into the swing of things and I hope you’ll stick around until then. I truly love photography and the flexibility that it offers me to take a little break.

You won’t see photos of my baby’s face on here. I give all my clients the courtesy of not posting their babies faces, and I’ll be extending that to my own son as well. But I 100% promise you that he’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

I love you all, and I’m so thankful that you’ve stuck with me through my awkward silence. Glad to be getting back in the saddle soon 🩵🤍🩵

There are moments in your life that it’s meaningful to capture and hold onto through photos.

Waiting for the arrival of your first little baby is absolutely on that list.

These photos were a last minute surprise before the baby arrived, and it makes them all the more special. The mood of the day was very calm and relaxed, not the high-energy and playfulness of other couples photoshoots that I’ve done. This was all about capturing the tranquility that was already there.

The waiting. The anticipation. The moment.

Easy, laid back photos in their home, with no hassle and no stress. Exactly what an expectant mother experience should be for these photos.

This chapter is called waiting.

Waiting for your life to change. Waiting to meet the person you’ve gotten to know. Waiting to have new priorities.

It’s beautiful and I’m so grateful I could capture it for these two - soon to be three 🤍
