With coyote mating season taking place from January till March, It's advisable to keep your outdoor cats indoors for this period of time. Coyotes are more active and aggressive during this time of year. Keep your feline friends safe and at home to be let out a later time! Or alternatively, get a Apple Airtag/Samsung tag equivalent collar for urban areas or consider getting a pet gps collar for those rural locations. Kitty got home safe with a little intervention keeping coyote away.🐱

Thermal cameras can be a non intrusive tool to locate animals in the night. Thermal cameras require no light to function, only energy and thus in turn heat. Fun fact paw prints can show up really well on thermal! Especially in the snow!

Love the city nights!
Being animal aware while at night on a pet search is paramount to safety. See if you can spot the cougar peeking out of the very tall grass. I could only notice cougar till the cougar was only a over a dozen feet away. Cougars will tend to get down low and prowl through tall grass to get in close.
Baloo finally found! This was just a few days ago. She is home after her vet trip safe and sound!

Here's a photo from a project to make the rainy day feel a little warmer.
No drone flying in the Calgary Kananaskis area until June 17th due to G7 meeting.
06/04/2025
Please note that during the G7 Summit meeting there will be no drone flight in and around Kanaskis, Ghost Lake and a large portion of the Ghost PLUZ. There are also no drone flights to be taking place in Calgary and the surrounding areas including Crossfield, Airdrie, and Chestermere. Also all drones of every size including sub 250 gram drones are prohibited from flying. Lets all please keep your drones grounded from June 16 6am till June 17 11:59pm so we may continue to keep things safe and legal for all involved. I say this as a heads up because they will issue major fines and are to be equipped with drone detetction technology. Unfortunately this will also affect any sort of commercial work and prevent lost pet searches via drone from happening during this timeframe. Here is an RCMP link for those wishing to learn more and stay legal. https://rcmp.ca/en/g7/controlled-access-zone-and-air-restrictions
As always feel free to ask me any questions during the event and I’ll answer as best as I can.
Fly safe and enjoy the moment.
-Trevor Kerr & Cal Drone
Due to a series of recent events, we kindly ask that any shooting for sport or hunting gets put on pause when a pet search is happening in the area.
Having gunshots in the area will scare the pet away, making it much harder to get an idea of where the lost pet will be. Also for the safety of our pilots and drones we might be forced to stay grounded or call off the flight entirely until shooting has stopped or law enforcement has gotten involved.
Lets make things safer and easier for all involved. Lost & Found Pets - Calgary and Surrounding Areas Calgary, Alberta LOST & FOUND Pets
