Taste receptors for sweet flavors developed in order for omnivorous species like humans to be able to sense plants and fruits that would provide a rich supply of carbohydrates and sugars, which our bodies metabolize in order to create energy. As obligate carnivores, cats have no need for, and can’t digest and process, carbohydrates, so evolution eventually deleted the gene for the sweet tooth.

An orange tabby cat called Stubbs was the mayor of Talkeetna, a small town in Alaska for 20 years! He had several uncontested elections and although he didn’t hold any legislative power, he was loved by locals and tourists alike.

Alone? Get a pet. Sad? Get a pet. Happy? Get a damn pet because pets are just adorable and make life easy to live.

There have been a few studies around this and it turns out that just like us, dogs have a preferred hand (well, paw) to lead with. You can find out if your dog is right or left-pawed by giving them their favorite toy or interactive game and seeing which paw they use to help them first.
