The Great Table Escape

Today, March 11, on what would have been my son Brodie’s 50th birthday, I’d like to share Deirdre with you. I created Dierdre, which means sorrow, on the first anniversary of Brodie’s death. Deirdre was meant to illustrate my journey through grief, with her outer layer showing the rawness of my soul, the the Murano piece representing the anger that consumed me at times, the tear-shaped piece speaks to the tears I’ve cried, and the heart at the center reminding me of enduring love for my son.
